We want to ensure that every child gets the best they can from their education and that can only happen if children are able to get to school safely, on time and with due respect for our neighbours and the environment. We believe that encouraging families to walk to and from school is the best way to achieve this and help keep our children happy and healthy.
We work in partnership with Living Streets and Buckinghamshire County Council to provide reward schemes for pupils throughout the school year. Our PTA have funded a scooter rack for the site and our Healthy School Council and Junior Road Safety Officers works to promote this area in school.
We have a School Crossing Patrol officer, Mrs Ruffle, who helps families to cross Lent Rise Road safely in the morning and afternoons.
Parents may wish to allow their upper Key Stage 2 Child to walk to or from school accompanied. Please consider the maturity, responsibility and road sense of your child before allowing them to walk unaccompanied and ensure you speak to them about road and personal safety. If your child will be walking to or from school unaccompanied please provide this in writing.
Please read the documents below to see the steps we are taking to promote this to our School community.
