This autumn term, we are diving into our community and the surrounding local area. We'll explore both our personal histories and the important people and places that define our community. The topic will be approached through a blend of traditional lessons and child-initiated learning activities.
In English, our reading list includes “Sunday Chutney” – a narrative about a young girl who travels globally and then joins a new school. Later in the term, we’ll delve into “The Day the Crayons Quit”. Our weekly ‘Big Write’ activities will draw inspiration from these texts, encompassing tasks like letter writing and character descriptions. We also participate in daily Read Write Inc Phonic lessons.
Maths this term will focus on number. Our efforts will be on strengthening our grasp of place value, number recognition, and formation. As we progress, the focus will shift to addition and subtraction, complemented by various visual aids.
